I wish to thank all of the voters who supported me in this race. The issues, (and solutions addressed in the links listed below), will not go away. Vote for the Taxpayers Party!I need your help to get elected as Congressman for the 12th Congressional District.Brief introduction: My name is Les Townsend, and I am running for the 12th Congressional District in Michigan as a candidate for the U.S. Taxpayers Party of Michigan ( the Michigan affiliate of the Constitution Party). ........ I am seeking political office because there are major problems besetting this country which can only be solved through the legislative process. I do not see either major party proposing actual solutions. What I see are two large groups of professional politicians fighting over control of the pork barrel. The primary issue ( because it will be the easiest to accomplish ), I want the voters of the 12th district to consider for this election year, is the fact that our courts are legislating from the bench in violation of the U.S. Constitution. There is currently an all out attack on the Christian religion and people of faith in this country. The use of the Federal Courts to attack Christians must stop. The checks and balances in the Constitution provide a way for Congress to curb these outrageous attacks by the ACLU, acting through the Federal Courts. I need the support, votes, and help of you the voters in the 12th Congressional District of Michigan, so that I can be elected and introduce legislation to stop this abuse. Congress has the power and responsibility to curb the ongoing abuses by the Federal Judiciary. Did you know that congress has the power to overturn Roe v. Wade, and to put issues such as the display of the 10 Commandments, prayer in school, and pornography back into the jurisdiction of the various states? ........ Draft language of legislation ( a Joint Resolution ) which, when enacted by Congress, will stop activist Federal Judges from abusing the U.S. Constitution, on the issues addressed in the resolution. Issues such as abortion, display of the 10 commandments, pornography, and prayer in school. My 4 step agenda in running for political office. My views on other issues which might be of interest to the voters. This web site will be updated periodically during the campaign so please come back to check for changes in the articles on the site.
